Some of the major events I covered in The Westerner were: The 100th anniversary of the Dalton Raid at Coffeyville, KS; the 115th anniversary of the Custer Battle in Montana; the 100th anniversary of the famous 101 Ranch in Oklahoma; the 100th anniversary of Hopalong Cassidy's birthday in Lone Pine, CA; the 100th Wyoming Centennial celebration; the Grand Opening of the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum, Los Angeles, CA; End of Trail, CA; and the Cheyenne Frontier Rodeo, WY. I also covered the 100th anniversary of John Wayne's birthday in Winterset, IA in 2007 which will be featured in The Best of the Westerner.
 

I also covered all the major western film festivals: Charlotte, NC; Ashville, NC; Memphis, TN; Williamsburg, VA; Lone Pine, CA; Tombstone, AZ; Durango, CO; Hopalong Cassidy, OH; Gene Autry Days both OH and OK; Kanab, UT, Festival of the West, AZ and Rex Allen Days, AZ.
 

I also visited many of the great movie locations and was on several major movie locations with my friend, stuntman Neil Summers.  We have several back issues of The Westerner listed in our book section.
